wel-lok TS
Provides a permanent seal in well abandonment
wel-lok TS (Tubing Seal) utilizes a thermite reaction heater to melt proprietary bismuth-based alloys downhole. The melted alloys have a viscosity similar to water which allows them to flow into damaged or irregular tubulars and annular spaces. As the alloys cool and solidify, they expand to create a seamless, gas-tight seal that is non-corrosive and unaffected by H2S or CO2. The wel-lok TS provides a permanent tubing barrier for well abandonment applications. It can pass through small tubing restrictions to seal above perforations, leaks, or failed production packers. The wel-lok TS contains no moving parts and sets in a few hours, allowing rapid pressure testing. It is deployed on wireline or slickline and is customizable for all API and non-API casing sizes from 2 3/8” to 36”. With differential pressures up to 10,000 psi and temperatures up to 175°C, the wel-lok TS allows operators to permanently isolate zones and set gas-tight plugs across the life of a well. Its bismuth-based thermite technology overcomes limitations of traditional bridge plugs and other tubing barriers.
