smartPIMS 2.0
Non-intrusive ultrasonic corrosion and erosion monitoring system
smartPIMS 2.0 is the next generation system for non-intrusive ultrasonic corrosion/erosion monitoring of critical assets. It offers a variety of connectivity options to provide an optimized solution for any application. Each multi-point monitoring system can connect up to 16 ultrasonic sensors to provide enhanced coverage of known critical and problematic locations.
The system has three connectivity options:
1. Cellular - Equipped with an onboard battery and LTE-M/Cat M1 cellular modem for data transfer to the internet. It can be programmed to obtain thickness values at user-defined intervals and transmit data to SNI's webPIMS backend application for databasing, trending, and analysis.
2. Datalogger - Has an onboard battery and system memory to store up to 3,000 thickness readings. It can collect data on a set schedule and store it onboard. Users can connect via an adapter and table/PC to download data in XML or CSV format or upload it to webPIMS.
3. Modbus - Connects directly to a PC or SCADA/DCS system for on-demand readings or polling at set intervals. Data can be read via Modbus commands and displayed locally or ported to other management systems.
The smartPIMS 2.0 maintains 1 mil (0.025mm) precision for minimum wall thicknesses of 0.040" (1mm) for dual-element sensors and 0.125" (3.2mm) for delay-line sensors. It is designed for easy installation with magnetic/clamp attachments and provides frequent, consistent data to monitor corrosion/erosion rates without manual inspections.
