SAFE Disc
At-source detection
Using its Passive Trigger technology, Sentinel has developed SAFE Disc. Deployable via ROV or installed permanently on subsea infrastructure, SAFE Disc is a visual indicator system that provides immediate field-based indication and characterisation of subsea emissions mitigating the need to sample and send back to shore for testing.
SAFE Disc™ is designed to provide a clear and simple visual indication when a specific material is detected in the subsea environment. Triggers include CO2, thermogenic gas, liquid hydrocarbons, and from other subsea fluids to fluids in the subsea environment.
Rapid results: SAFE Disc™ helps operators characterise subsea emissions at source, avoiding delays and reducing movement of dangerous material
Cost reductions: Removes the need to transport samples topside or onshore, significantly reducing wait times for results and reducing test costs
Enables Compliance: Operators can assess situations (e.g., thermogenic vs biogenic source) immediately and take corrective action faster if required
