Remotely operated vehicle for eliminating man-entry

Page last modified
April 11 2024

Purposely built to fit through standard manways, Rover is a remotely operated vehicle that minimises and frequently eliminates exposure of personnel to hazardous environments. Rover’s sturdy tracked design and ability to operate in all conditions makes it ideal for unloading catalysts as well as cleaning and inspecting all types of confined spaces. Rover helps to reduce schedules, as it can start work earlier and doesn’t need frequent rest breaks, unlike its human equivalent.

Pros & Limitations

Capabilities
Rover is equipped with lights, camera and a vacuum hose. An additional mechanical arm can be customised for specific applications, such as removing fused or coked catalysts.
Non man entry
Rover significantly minimises and frequently eliminates the need for technicians to enter confined spaces — substituting risks to personnel with innovative technology.
Operating conditions
Rover operates under all conditions including hazardous environments, underwater and in temperatures up to 100 degrees Celsius.
Power
3-phase power pack.
Speed
Rover reduces schedules as it can start jobs earlier and does not need to take frequent rest breaks, unlike its human equivalent. For large reactors, multiple units can be used simultaneously to minimise schedules further.
Temperature
Withstands temperatures up to 100 degrees Celsius.
