Lee Energy Systems’ latest technology offering is the Mega Packer Casing Expander.
This casing expansion packer or permanent set plug is used to create a cement support base in the A&B annuli. The MPX is currently available for 7”, 7 5/8” and 9 5/8” with engineering drawings in place to manufacture 10 ¾” and 13 3/8”.
This hydraulically activated tool will expand the A-annulus casing into the B-annulus creating a base for cement and to prevent cement slumping. Once a pressure build up is achieved in the drill string the inner casing is expanded outwards to create a mechanical support in the B annulus. It is then released/detached from the BHA before proceeding on the next operation which could be perforations with the Gator Mechanical perforator to place cement in the annuus.
