Gator Perforator
Explosive-free hydraulic system for casing perforation
The Gator Perforator can be used in any application where the casing requires perforated to gain access to the annulus for remedial work such as.
-
Perforate and testing of natural shale barriers.
-
Perforate, Wash and Cement (PWC).
-
Perforate, circulate and cement (PCC).
-
Perforate and wash to retrieve casing.
The Gator Perforator has a substantial run history of over 1900 runs worldwide. We have the ability to perforate from 3 1/2" up to 20" casing.
The Gator Perforator functions by mechanically cutting or perforating 4 large slots, 90⁰ from each other every activation thus providing a 360-degree circulation flow path to the formation or annulus. (An example of TFA for one activation of our 825 tool for 9 5/8" casing is 10in²)
The depth penetration control feature on the Gator Perforator ensures that there is no damage to the outer casing when perforating. For ease and simplicity of operation, the Gator Perforator can be deployed on coil tubing or drill pipe, tool size dependent.
The operation of casing perforation can be repeated as many times as required, so that multiple activations can be performed. The Gator Perforator is compatible with 3rd party packers, and bridge plugs, this allows multiple operations the be performed in a single trip. Once the bridge plug is set, the Gator Perforator is activated to achieve the required footage of perforation. The circulation behind the casing can now be performed, and a cement barrier is placed to complete the P&A operation
