Real-time, self-adjusting, 3-phase virtual flow meter

Flow simulations facilitate production optimization by monitoring and by planning the flow of oil and gas in wells and pipelines. Production optimization can focus on a wide range of efficiency objectives such as maximizing production outputs, cost-effective operations or carbon-effective production targets.

Our FLUX Virtual Flow Meter (FLUX VFM) provides real-time flow rates that allow for accurate predictions through the life of the asset. The underlying models are self-adjusted to ensure the most accurate outcome at any time. Such automation and self-adjustment allows for a more scalable, accurate and economically-viable solution in the market.

Our hybrid technology combines the predictive capabilities of physics models with the self-improving capabilities of machine learning over time. Our technology also includes a scenario mode, in which the operator can experiment with the flow of a well, e.g. by reducing the lift gas rate, and with that analyze well flow rate behavior and optimize the production accordingly.

We have deployed our VFMs both on offshore and onshore assets globally, and are working in close partnership with Wintershall Dea, Petronas, Aker BP and Pioneer Natural Resources, amongst others.

We deliver real-time three-phase flow simulations for production monitoring and optimization through our virtual flow metering (VFM) application and other advisers (flow instability insights, wax deposition etc). These simulations are based on our proprietary simulator FLUX Simulator; the underlying hybrid modeling approach combines physics-based and machine-learning models. We have seen this approach to provide superior accuracy and the ability to address a broader range of use cases than physics or machine learning alone.

We put high emphasis on our solutions to be made easily available and be flexibly consumed, with low maintenance (cost) required. Our applications are cloud-native, integrate to third-party applications and data sources through an open-API, self-calibrate for consistent assurance of up-to-date, quality simulations, which equips the client to take effective production decisions. Overall, this allows for a more scalable, accurate and economically-viable approach in the market.
