Ultra-wide ROV video camera with low latency 4K video

Page last modified
April 29 2025

The Discovery Vision Systems from Voyis are smart ROV cameras that combine low latency 4K video feed with simultaneous capture of high-resolution still images for 3D modeling. These cameras feature an ultra-wide 130°x130° field of view for complete situational awareness during ROV operations.

The system leverages edge computing to deliver real-time image enhancement, distortion correction, and lighting adjustments for the 4K video stream, achieving glass-to-glass latency under 250ms for optimal vehicle piloting. Simultaneously, it captures crisp HDR still images along with integrated navigation data like IMU, enabling effective wide-area photogrammetry and 3D modeling.

The Discovery camera is rated for 300m depth and designed for video inspections and photogrammetry surveys.

The cameras integrate tightly with compact Nova Mini lights that provide over 60,000 lumens each for proper scene illumination. They support advanced robotic architectures like ROS2 and DDS for seamless integration into unmanned underwater vehicles. Overall, Discovery Vision Systems offer a versatile optical solution combining low-latency piloting video with simultaneous 3D modeling capability.
