acoustoSENSE™ Critical Valve Monitoring
Defer PRV & PSV inspections and capture lost product with wireless, non-invasive real-time acoustic emissions monitoring from Tribosonics
acoustoSENSE enables our oil & gas customers to A) save costs by deferring time based inspections on valves (in some cases by 2 years) B) save costs by reducing lost product / emissions in expensive processes C) avoid fines by complying with new/incoming legislation on gas releases D) understand valve condition, remotely.
acoustoSENSE™ is a wireless, ultra-low power, high-frequency acoustic emissions monitoring system designed for the energy, petrochemical, and process industries. It utilizes acoustic emission (AE) monitoring, a well-established approach for monitoring a wide range of industrial assets. The system detects high-frequency ultrasonic waves emitted from fluid flow, when surfaces come into contact or materials deform, crack, or corrode.
acoustoSENSE™ is applicable to various operations where acoustic emissions occur, including valve opening, closing, simmering, chattering (PRVs PSVs Control Valves etc.), slow rotating bearing wear, thief hatches & steam traps, seals, compressors, BOPs, and more. acoustoSENSE™ data insights lead to reducing lost revenue, decreasing emissions, and it will enable risk-based inspections in industrial settings. The system employs a novel, patent-pending AI Edge Acquisition technology, enabling high-frequency, continuous monitoring in a battery-powered device. This allows for the detection of every event or state 100% of the time, moving beyond periodic measurements.
Key features of acoustoSENSE™ include:
1. Always-on monitoring with the ability to detect events up to 500 kHz frequency
2. Non-invasive sensing - no modifications to existing equipment required for simple installation
3. Battery-powered operation with a 5-year battery life using a single D cell lithium-thionyl chloride battery
4. Wireless communication using the ISA100 network protocol
5. Hazardous location certification (IECEx/ATEX Zone 0, UL Class 1 Div 1)
6. Optional external transducer for hard-to-access areas or high temperatures up to 200°C
