5K DualFlow
Highly automated offshore solids separation and management system
The 5K DualFlow is an ultra-compact dual cyclone desanding unit with a modest 2m x 2m footprint, designed for offshore topside applications where solids could be present from wellbore flowback. It achieves a separation efficiency of more than 99.8% for solids particles as small as 20 microns, at flow rates up to 20,000 barrels per day of liquid and 20 million standard cubic feet per day of gas.
The key technology is the use of two patented, single liner cyclones in one unit. As one cyclone vessel is isolated and flushed for solids removal, production continues uninterrupted through the other cyclone. This inline solids flushing ensures continuous production without any manual handling of solids. The dynamic inlet design provides high flexibility in handling varying flow rates, solids sizes, and pressure conditions.
With its ground-breaking design that minimizes erosion, the DualFlow incorporates online data logging (7th generation) with over 560 sensors monitoring flow rates, pressures, temperatures, solids weights, and erosion levels in real-time. This data-driven approach enables better asset management by allowing early detection and mitigation of erosion. The DualFlow is certified to DNV RP A203 standards and meets various other industry certifications.
The DualFlow Desander can also be installed during a Coiled Tubing Clean-Out (CTCO) operation or to manage solids during jetting of production separators.
