20K Desander
Removes sand from high pressure gas wells
The 20K Desander is a modular, skid-mounted system designed to remove sand and other solids from high pressure, high temperature well streams during operations like well testing or hydraulic fracturing clean-up. It consists of a pressurized cylindrical vessel with tangential inlet and outlet connections to induce a swirling motion that separates denser solids via centrifugal force. Solids drop to the bottom of the vessel for periodic removal while cleaned gas exits through the top outlet. The unit includes manual and hydraulic gate valves for isolation, a hydraulic choke valve on the solids dump line, and instrumentation for pressure monitoring and equalization. It is typically used upstream of choke manifolds to protect well test equipment from abrasion. The rugged design utilizes high-pressure, high-temperature materials and components rated for pressures up to 20,000 psi and temperatures from -20 to 250°F. Key features include double block-and-bleed valves for safety, ancillary slings rated for the system weight, and third-party certification to applicable codes and standards.
