With new EU methane regulations now in force, energy operators face increasing pressure to measure and reduce emissions.
At IKM Testing UK, we’ve developed Source Level Identification and Quantification (SLIQ) – a patent-pending system that measures methane at component level with greater sensitivity than traditional methods. The technology has been independently verified by Robert Gordon University during controlled trials and is already being deployed with TotalEnergies E&P UK across offshore assets and the Shetland Gas Plant.
It is also supported by our Aerial Source Quantification (A.S.Q.) system, which uses drones and advanced sensors to detect and quantify emissions across entire sites.
Methane accounts for around 30% of recent global warming, yet has often been overlooked compared to CO₂. With the right tools, operators can not only achieve compliance but also take a lead in reducing their environmental impact.
