Reduce external contamination of LPG cylinders
KNPC owns and operates two LPG cylinder filling facilities, wherein, LPG cylinders are refilled and distributed to the local market for residential and commercial use through centralized facilities located within the Kuwait residential districts. It has been observed that the over time, grease, oil and dust build-up on the external surface of the cylinders, resulting in a lower life cycle of these cylinders.
KNPC is assessing the viability of utilizing preventative measures to overcome this challenge, with the focus being coating materials that can be applied externally to the LPG cylinders before they enter circulation in the market.
Simultaneously, KNPC is also assessing external treatment options for cylinders already in the market, such as automated cleaning, ultrasonic treatment, or other technologies that can be integrated with the existing automated LPG cylinder filling facilities.
