Production Losses from Prolonged Gas Line Depressurization Events

Description

We are seeking innovative technologies or methods to reduce or eliminate the need for complete shutdown and depressurization/pressurization cycles of gas lift (GL) lines and towers during rig or barge operations in offshore fields. The current process is time-consuming and leads to significant production loss due to lengthy depressurization and re-pressurization. Our goal is either to avoid this cycle altogether or shorten the shutdown duration from days to hours. Areas of interest include:

  • Advanced pipeline isolation technology, such as smart or remotely controlled plugging tools that enable localized depressurization while maintaining system pressure.
  • Enhanced safety barriers or control systems, like improved Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), to manage risks without full shutdowns.
  • New offshore installation or heavy lift methods that lessen safety risks near tower structures.
