Description

Looking for a cost effective solution to reinject a low pressure natural gas OR a low pressure CO2 stream into a geothermal injection well.

Origin of the gas: Accompanied natural gas from a geothermal process (untreated).

Gas production rate: 100-400 normal meter cubes (Nm3) per hour.

Gas content:

- 85% methane

- 5% CO2

- 3% C2 (ethane)

- 3% N2

- 4% C3 – C11+

Origin of the CO2: Accompanied natural gas from a geothermal process that is used in a combined heat and power unit (gas engine) resulting in flue gas. Input of natural gas into the CHP unit is ranging from 100-400 normal meter cubes (Nm3) per hour.

Geothermal production well details:

- Surface wellhead pressure ~5-10Bar

- Flowrate of geothermal water: 100-400m3/h

- Gas production rate: 100-400m3/h (gas water ratio is 1Nm3/m3)

Geothermal injection well details:

- 2000mTVD injection reservoir

- Surface injection pressure ~15Bar

- Flowrate of geothermal water: 100-400m3/h

- Composition of geothermal water:

Calcium (Ca)                μg/l       3,900,000

Chloride (as Cl)          μg /l      81,000,000

Magnesium (Mg)        μg/l       1,000,000

Potassium (K)              μg/l       970,000

Sodium (Na)                 μg/l       34,000,000

Strontium (Sr)              μg/l       250,000

Sulphate (as SO4)     μg /l      95,000
